  • About | MatriArch

About MatriArch was established by a black mother who found herself constantly trying to find support and a place of belonging while being a mother of a cancer-surviving child born with two holes in her heart, having her second daughter during COVID-19 who had a hole in her heart, umbilical hernias, and later developed ear infections. The lack of support and outreach in the 21st century was astounding. During these challenging times, she recalled her paternal and maternal grandmothers. The thoughts of how strong, caring, loving, influential, and life-changing they were in their time were unrelenting. The examples of strength in black motherhood and how they paved the way for generations to come formed MatriArch, understanding that women are the foundation of the world. The black motherhood support hub, MatriArch, utilizes the latest technology and reaches black mothers, ensuring a sense of community is always within reach. The MatriArch Hub consists of a website, blog, event calendar, Magazine, Newsletter, Podcast, digital community online/mobile app, and resources at the fingertips of black mothers to encourage them to be and form their own MatriArch. Whether from their desktops, dinner tables, or baby cribs, women are constantly building and shaping the world one interaction at a time. No matter where you are in your motherly journey, you have a place at MatriArch. We strive to build strong black women and their families the way they see fit. Here at MatriArch, you can join supportive black women who are taking on the challenge of becoming their family's new Millennial MatriArch of the 21st Century.
