Why Jamie Foxx’s Netflix Special was a true testament to Jesus Christ and to let the world know that the Gospel is here to stay.

The timing of this Netflix special could not have been more perfect. It is the true perfection of how God works in our lives and the testaments he gives us to change and to follow him. Don’t fear the critics; tell your truth because “God’s Got You.” God has carried you through as he has done with many of us.

During Jamie’s Netflix special, I laughed, cried, was inspired, and felt the spirituality of it all. To journey with God is a true testament to his plan and what is ordained. It is so important to see those that we relate to as they share their arts, stories, and celebrity to share their testimonies as well.

Oddly enough, I remember the first person outside my family, friends, and workplace to whom I told about Ryan and her struggles: a lady checking me out at Target. It sounds crazy, but I had been holding on to Ryan’s struggles. I wanted to keep it a secret and only share good news, great news, with strangers, as we have been conditioned to do in our society. Don’t share how you really feel; mask it and make sure you don’t become a burden to others. Only carry good news.

God gave Ryan and Rylee to us to carry us through our troubles and help others. Once you see the gift in the tough times, you can start spreading the word about how God brought you through. So, don’t be afraid to share your story. You never know who is going through the same thing and how you can help them.

When and if someone shares with you their story, be patient and listen. Don't just offer platitudes to carry you through the moment. Just note a few things that may be happening. This may be the first time they share their story with someone and relive what they have been going through. Second, you will be living in the moment with them. While they may be sharing their story with you, for the first time, they have been living it. Third, be patient and let them get it out. God has selected you to listen in that moment to hear what He has done for them and may do for you in the future.

Your drive in this world is God-given, and He wants you to find your gift and, once you find it, share it with the world. As Jamie Foxx stated several times in his special, “If I can stay funny, I can stay alive.” Jamie found his God-given talent and shared it with the world. Thank you.

As a God-led, passionate woman, I have heard you, God, and I will continue to spread your word. I genuinely want to thank God for my blessings. My wonderful husband, Brandon Washington, who loves me unconditionally, puts up with me and my crazy ideas, supports my dreams, and is always there when I need him. My amazing daughters, my blessings, who love me and my passion for helping people, and who are my motivation and inspiration to be a better woman. Thank you and all of you who love and support me. I am blessed and honored to have you in my life.

So, cheers for the upcoming year. Staying alive in 2025!
